Pork Products

The kids slept until 6:25 today. That brightens the day. Watched some cartoons and then headed for the Gazebo. It's up north, in Napali, in a very non-descript motel, but the Gazebo is in the back on the water's edge. Great spot! We have been there before and knew of their great banana/mac pancakes and pineapple pancakes. As we were loading into the mini-van one of the valets suggested the fried rice as being a local favorite so when in Rome....

Lucky we ordered a half order because I honestly have never seen such a quantity of pork products in one dish. Plus all different types. I am down with a little pig but I certainly don't need pounds of pig. Bacon, ham, some local delicacy all mixed off with eggs, rice and soy sauce. Nice mix but if a normal Chinese fried rice is about 2% meat this was about 92% meat. Anyway, I hope the camera phone did justice to the pluthra of pig products we encountered! I imagine a Rabbi might have a heart attack just seeing this plate of pork! Just glad we only ordered a half order!

The wait was about 45 minutes for breakfast but that place is so good it's worth the wait. I highly recommend the Gazebo anytime you are in Kanapali or Kapalua. Go big and get the mac, banana or banana-mac because they come with the fresh whip cream on top. Only order the fried rice if you are a serious meat eater.

Had dinner with my momz at a Vietnamiese place in Lahaina last night. Ok, that's obviously spelled wrong so let me say the name of the place is Saigon. Now does it make sense!? I like to joke that Kitty Kat thinks ketchup is a spice so when I get the chance for something other than the ordinary I like to do it. Got a couple of interesting dishes and they were damn good. The green paypaya salad was the bomb. I am serious!

Had a little gecko on our ceiling last night. I don't really like critters so I wasn't overly pleased but Kitty Kat said he was too fast to catch and I wasn't about to argue with good logic like that so we left him. He seemed to slip behind the water sprinkler on the wall this morning so he must live in the wall. Hopefully he stays there!

Ok, so explain this one to me. I finally slept well last night which was good but had this wild dream.... I was in a building and we were baricading ourselves as if we were the A-team. No, BA, Hanibal and the gang were not there putting together molitof cocktails but just about. Then the authorities arrives and in the back seat, shooting his gun at us, was Gil Grissom was CSI. Clearly I have a mental disorder so please explain to me.

Had dinner tonight with momz and the little dude. The little girl was too tired and Kitty Kat had some stuff to work on so they stayed back. Headed up to the Village and had some awesome blackened fish with the Hawaiian salsa. Love that stuff. A little hula pie for desert! Took an awesome picture at sunset with the camera phone from our table. Will post that tomorrow. You won't believe how good that stupid little phone picture came out! The dude found two bucks on the walk home. You would think it was a C note based on his reaction. Oh to be 5!

Not a drop of rain yet so no complaints here. Probably hit the pool and beach again tomorrow. Not so bad!!!

Here's a picture of the line heading into the Gazebo this morning for breakfast.

With that it is time to sign out and go to bed.

peace out.
