Kitty Kat went out to run some errands on Saturday and called me on the way home. She had to tell me about her experience at Target. She couldn't stop laughing.... She was in line to buy a few assorted items. You know how Target does it... you go for a pack of pens and come out with $100 worth of who knows what. I am not really sure what "necessities" we ended up with on that trip.
Before I tell you about that let me also tell you that little dude had swim team tryouts this weekend. Do not yet know if he made the team but I assume he will. Though just 5 years old he is really a good swimmer. We went back to the club yesterday and he swam the entire length of the pool (barely) which is 50 yards (or 50 meters?) which impressed me. I was worried I was going to have dive him and help him the last 10 or 15 yards but he did it!
Anyway, back to the Target story... Kitty Kat was talking to the cashier. She estimated him to be in his 40's, missing a couple prominent teeth, but just an average Target employee overall. Nothing special. As she was paying he made a comment about the chocolate Skittles Kitty Kat was buying. Yes, they have chocolate Skittles. I didn't try them yet so will report on that later. The employee said to her something about how he prefers M & M's, not sure about the chocolate Skittles, etc.... He then said, "did you know that M & M's has their own race car?" He told her that he was "watching the Dayyyy-tona 500" (apparently he did speak it slowly as if he hadn't heard of that little car race) and saw this car with the M and M's logo on it.
I will admit I didn't know M & M's sponsored a NASCAR ride but that's certainly not shocking news to me. Pretty much all big companies sponsor a car it seems. The shocking thing was his next statement. I don't remember exactly what he said to her but something to the effect of that apparently this M & M's company is pretty big. I guess he had no clue that Mar's, Inc, according to Wikipedia, did $21 BILLION (that's a B) in sales in 2006 so they can probably afford to sponsor a race car!
Anyway, we all have to remember there are some clueless people out there!
Happy Monday.
peace out
