TGIF

I am glad it's Friday. This week feels like it's been going on for about a month. However, still made it out to the gym this morning for 70 minutes of cardio. Didn't have much more in the tank after playing in my weekly hoops game last night. Did we win? Did we lose? Who cares... how did the SacTownGuy play? Marginal. Couple assists, about 10-12 points, but a missed layup, a blocked layup, two missed free throws, and the usual bad defense. Not a great game for the SacTownGuy last night. Sure the Dream Team won but who cares!? At my age I don't care about wins and losses... I care about playing well! Nothing really exciting happened as the other team was sort of non-descript. They were late 20's, had one very good player, had a bunch of average players, and we beat them pretty easily. Vegas Randy had some nice drives to the hoops and Dandy Don had lots of tough rebounds inside. Overall a nice team effort by the Dream Team. Oh ya, and I got some props one of the refs for my Matt Barnes jersey.

Speaking of jerseys I will be buying a Russell Westbrook Seattle Supersonics jersey as soon as they are available. I hope I can get one in a throw back style. Late '70's preferably. How about Russell going 4th in the draft? I have been telling people for MONTHS he would get drafted ahead of Kevin Love. People thought I was crazy well all I can say is... SCOREBOARD. Russell went 4th and K-love went 5th in teh NBA draft last night. Not bad to have two UCLA Bruin's in the top 5. Plus Luc Richard went early in the second round. I hope Coach Howland can get the Fab 5 freshman to play together next year... but with Collison running the point I think another final 4 is very obtainable.
Back to my man Russell Westbrook. One of the talking heads on espn.com says, "Great pick for the Sonics. I know that Sam Presti's heart was with Westbrook. While many think this is too high for him, I don't. I think he has incredible upside and he's a lock to be a great defender. He should develop on the offensive end, too. Overall, he has a chance to be a better version of Rajon Rondo." I would compare him to Michael Jordan rather than Rajon Rondo but what do I know. Here's a picture from the Seattle Times website. I guess I will have to bookmark that site so I can keep track of Mr. Westbrook's progress this season.
I have other topics to mention, like the King's drafting a guy from Rider who should have been a second round pick, Larry Allen's 2013 HOF induction in the greatest HOF class ever, and more... but will save those for another day.

peace out.
