The Streets

I read my man BossMack's blog today and realized, assuming 50% of his latest tale is true, that I have a pretty easy life. Assuming you don't mind a few swear words go read his latest at...

http://topmacknigga.blogspot.com/

I am typically in bed long before 11:37 PM, which is when the BosMack's problems began. However, I recently had to run out to Safeway to buy some medication for one of my kids... you know it was late... 8:30 or so. Whooooooshhh, I am tired just thinking about it. Let's say it was a Friday night.

So, I popped on some sweats. I had on my Englewood Wine Merchants T-shirt (if you need some wines go check out Drew's wine shop at www.englewoodwinemerchants.com) that night. I jumped in my little G35 and rolled on over to Safeway. You know Safeway up in Granite Bay. Tough crowd there that night. Some rich kids driving mom's (or was it their own?) BMW, some other rich kids driving another nice car, and then some other rich kids driving a ... nice car. I actually saw a few rich kids just leaning on their car in the parking lot... I could tell they were looking for trouble! I was sure some of them were going to hit me up to buy them beer... but I was able to avoid them and get into the store. Feeling better once I got inside... because Safeway in GB is fully staffed and they don't have the need for those 300 pound security guards like they do at a lot of stores in the 'hood.

You know a big difference between rich and poor neighborhoods is their supermarkets. I am not trying to show my liberal political side but supermarkets are MUCH nicer in my 'hood than when I lived over in Natomas, for example. I remember the poor selection, long lines, and lack of freshness to the decor in the Natomas branch of Bel Air. However, go to Bel Air in Roseville, Folsom, etc... and lines are shorter, selection better and they re-do the store more often. Take my Safeway in GB. Thing was built back in '02 and it just went under a TOTAL overhaul of the whole store. It's like a brand new store. I do like living in the 'burbs.

One night I was really scared walking down the aisle of Safeway... big dude was walking toward me... he was like 6'10", talking on his cell phone, pretending to shop, but I think he was ready to make a move and assault me... nah, just kidding, it was Brad Miller of the SacTown King's. Rough neighborhood....

Anyway, so I bought my medication, went to the self-serve checkout line (do they have those at Safeway in South Sac?) and slipped back into the G35 before any of those rich kids saw me. Rolled back down Sierra College Blvd, ducked into the gate of the gated 'hood, hit the electric garage, slipped the G in, gave the medicine to the kids, and I was asleep 10 minutes later. Not only did the po-po not bother me I didn't even see them. In fact, you never see the five-o in my 'hood. I better not tell the criminals that, eh!?

Anyway, I can't possibly top my man BossMack so I will not try but you should read his post.

Peace out.
